To those male students at Hofstra University – you know who you are and I don’t even know you. I didn’t say it publicly, but I had a thing or two to say about how you should be treated in prison for what you all “did” to that girl. It wasn’t pretty. But I take that all back now. She lied. She lied and almost ruined all of your lives. She lied and made it that much harder for REAL rape victims to come forward and be believed. She lied for whatever crazy demented reason and you are the ones who are met with suspicious eyes. Even though the “truth” came out, judgements were made which you will have to live with for the rest of your lives. I don’t know what really happened that night, but I’d like to say I’m sorry for judging you without hearing all sides of the story.

Apparently she lied because she didn’t want her boyfriend to find out that she was a slut. I’d think a better way would be to actually not be a slut…but that’s advanced math, apparently.
Thank goodness for cell phones. And some advice for all you young single men out there, get in the practice of recording all your hookups…..you never know when a crazy chick is going to regret how easy she was and scream rape.

Seriously though, WTF? Real rape definitely happens, but how many times is what we think is “real” actually fake? How many times are men convicted when a video like this, if it surfaced, would have proven that it was all consensual?
The Duke lacrosse case comes to mind. Are these exceptions? Or are they more normal than we think? The guilty ALWAYS say they’re innocent…but what if they actually were a lot of times…and all they lacked was the corroborating video tape?
Sick, sick world.
